Opiates ELISA
The Opiates Direct ELISA Kit provides only a preliminary analytical test result. A more specific alternate chemical method must be used in order to obtain a confirmed analytical result. Gas chromatography/ mass spectrometry (GS-MS) is the preferred confirmatory method (1). Clinical consideration and professional judgment should be applied to any drug of abuse test result, particularly when preliminary positive results are used.
ELISA kits come in different assay types like indirect, sandwitch or competitive ELISA to quantitatively or qualitatively measure an analyte's amount, presence or absence. Linear range of detection determines the amount of "target" can be detected accurately, while sensitivity determines the lower range or smallest changes of "target" can be detected.
