Biological Activity

The Human BAFF activity is determined by the dose-dependant stimulation of IL-8 production by human PBMC. The ED50 for this effect is less than 10ng/ml corresponding to a Specific Activity of 100,000IU/mg. Please note: results may vary with PBMC donors.

Formulation

Each mg of Human BAFF contains 1.6mg mannitol and 1.2mg HSA.

Physical Appearance

Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.

Purity

Greater than 95.0% as determined by:
(a) Analysis by RP-HPLC.
(b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE.

Solubility

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized BAFF in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.

Source

Escherichia Coli.

Stability

Lyophilized BAFF although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18oC. Upon reconstitution BAFF should be stored at 4oC between 2-7 days and for future use below -18oC.
Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
